Day Of The Dinero: Slot Overview
Play online slots for a while, and you'll probably end up learning about the Day of the Dead celebration, or Día de los Muertos as it is also known, eventually. You can see why software providers like it. Instead of being a macabre event, the Day of the Dead is a bright, colourful, and happy way of remembering friends and family members who have passed on to the next world. Whilst keeping many of the sights and sounds typically associated with the celebration, Games Global partner Gameburger Studios has given the day a money focus flip for its online slot Day Of The Dinero, a jackpot, coin symbol collecting game with mariachis and skulls.
Decorated skulls, that is, since this is what tradition dictates. A skull sits next to each of the five Jackpot prizes displayed in the upper part of the screen. None are especially big prizes, and Day Of The Dinero isn't one of those especially big sledgehammer slots. If that's what you're in the mood for, then something like ReelPlay's Money Mariachi Infinity Reels might be a better option. However, Day Of The Dinero comes with a relaxed mariachi tune of its own, and whilst not the most impressive artwork to ever come our way, it doesn't really let the celebration down visually. In addition, watching the two doggies, Puprika and Mutmeg, catch the upgrade tokens thrown at them is a fun little extra.
Instead of trying to be the fieriest enchilada in the shop, Day Of The Dinero goes the other way by being a low-volatile game. Of the four RTPs available, 96% is the highest, while bets go from 20 c to $/€50 per spin. The gaming grid utilises 5 columns holding 3 symbols each and 30 paylines. Gameburger explains the matrix as having 15 individually spinning reels, but they operate more or less the same as a regular 5x3 matrix.
For low pays, Day Of The Dinero has 9 to A card royals, paying 1 to 1.4 times the bet for 5 symbol winning combinations. The highs are a bottle, maracas, a guitar, and a sombrero. They pay 2 to 10 times the bet when a winning combination containing 5 matching premiums lands on reels.
Day Of The Dinero: Slot Features
One of Day Of The Dinero's aims is to collect tokens to boost the number of free spins, the free spins multiplier, and the 5 Jackpot prizes. The second goal is to try and win them.
Symbol Upgrade & Collector Symbol
This feature is available in the base game and in free spins. Non-winning symbols may be upgraded. The centre reel upgrades to land a Collector symbol. In the base game, all other reels upgrade to land Cash or Jackpot symbols. In free spins, all other reels upgrade to land extra spins or Jackpot symbols. The Collector symbol is wild, so it substitutes for any regular pay symbol. It also collects all landed Cash and Jackpot symbols. The Collector can appear in the centre position in the base game, and in free spins, it is locked to the centre position.
Feature Pots
Collecting tokens grows the feature pots. It is possible to collect up to 2 tokens on any base game spin when a Collector symbol appears. Collecting tokens can increase the number of free spins. Each token collected by the Free Spins Pot increases its value by +1, up to 12. After triggering free spins, the number of free spins randomly resets to 5, 6, or 7 when returning to the base game. Collected tokens can increase the free spins multiplier. Each token collected by the Free Spins Multiplier Pot boosts the multiplier by +0.5, up to x5. When returning to the base game from free spins, the multiplier randomly resets to x1.5 or x2.
Free Spins
Collecting a token to the free spins pot, the multiplier pot, or both may randomly trigger free spins. Both feature pots are awarded at their current value. For each free spin, the Collector is locked in place in the centre of the reels. A Jackpot is upgraded on each spin. Also, only Collector, Cash, Extra Spins symbols, and Jackpot symbols are active in free spins. Extra Spins symbols grant 1 to 3 additional free spins.
Rising Rewards Jackpots
Collecting golden flower tokens increments the Jackpots. Each collected token randomly increases a Rising Rewards Jackpot by 0.2 to 1 times the bet. Five jackpots are available: Mini - starts at 4x, goes as high as 30x; Minor - starts at 8x, goes as high as 40x; Major - starts at 20x, goes as high as 80x; Mega - starts at 100x, goes as high as 250x; Grand - starts at 500x, goes as high as 1,000x. The Collector will award the value of any Jackpot symbols in view. Jackpots reset at the start of the next spin when won, and a saved per bet level.
Day Of The Dinero: Slot Verdict
As noted up above, Day Of The Dinero won't be the best choice for gamblers looking to go gargantuan in a Day of the Dead slot. Fortunately, there are quite a few alternatives to choose from if that's the case, some good ones, too. Gameburger Studios has marched in the opposite direction for Day Of The Dinero. The game is still technically capable of producing wins of up to 5,000x the bet, though this does feel way too optimistic. It would be interesting to know what the 'win focus' might be, as Lucksome so helpfully puts in its games. There's a feeling the Grand is it, really, which poses a challenge in that it starts at half power and needs a significant amount of rose tokens to increment up to full capacity.
Let's be honest, many players must be rolling their eyes so much at Games Global Studios' barrage of local jackpot slots by now that they're risking a full-on ocular workout. Having said that, you can sort of see Day Of The Dinero's point if you try. It swims against the high volatile tide, offering a less threatening game, shall we say, for gamblers uninterested in face ripper slots. The features follow suit, made up of Games Global studios' favourites, such as the ubiquitous jackpot prize element and cash symbol collection mechanics, though other developers are hot on these at the moment, too. Blueprint Gaming, for one, with its conveyor belt production of collect symbol upgrade games, The Flintstones, for example. That's it, really. Feel like some low-key gambling with an ok Day of the Dead theme and comfortable features? Then, Day Of The Dinero could be one to go for, or avoid if the opposite applies.
Poor
Day of the Dinero is about as fun as a funeral.
