Money Track 2: Slot Overview

Clear the way players, a big steaming beast of a locomotive with a metallic skull, set in a futuristic steam punk-esque world with a mammoth hold & win game on board, is coming, though. Sorry, it's not Money Train 4 just yet, folks, but Money Track 2, an online slot from Stakelogic, instead. However, like us, you've probably spotted one or two similarities already, and we get the feeling they aren't coincidental. Money Track 2 isn't bang on the same, yet the resulting game is an almost surreal experience that had us chuckling from the get-go.

The train which sits in view sets the tone, as it is very, very, did we say very, close to the nightmare machine found in Money Train 3. Even the name is hilarious because, just like when Relax Gaming's Money Cart 2 first came out, there ain't no Money Track part 1 - yet (one is in the making according to sources). We got the feeling the people over at Stakelogic were absolutely cracking themselves up when they made Money Track 2. It's like they intentionally set out to troll Relax Gaming as hard as they could, or maybe some of the suits upstairs pushed the design team to cash in on the Money Train phenomenon, or, and this possible explanation seems the least likely of them all, the team actually made Money Track 2 completely innocently, without being aware of how close it was to another game. Yeah, nah, that one sounds a little too unbelievable to us, as well.

You wanna take on the 'Train' you gotta go big, and this Stakelogic has done when making Money Track 2. For starters, it's a highly volatile slot with monstrous potential and a hold & win bonus round as its focal point. The action takes place on a 5x4 grid surrounded by various UI buttons, the bonus buy, and a bunch of collection meters. To play, users select a stake of 40 p/c to $/€80 per spin and decide whether or not to take advantage of the four bonus buy choices. No matter how Money Track 2 is played, the default RTP weighs in at 96%.

Along the 40 paylines, Money Track 2 triggers a payout when matching symbols land left to right, starting from the first reel onwards. Its pay symbols are futuristic metallic 10-A card ranks as the lows, and 4 futuristic characters as its highs. Hitting a 5-of-a-kind winning way awards 1.25 to 2.5 times the bet when made up of the royals or 5 to 12.5 times the bet for 5 of the premium symbols. The sheriff badge is Money Track 2's wild, which substitutes for all paying symbols. Wilds land on all reels, so a 5 wild winning line is worth 12.5 times the bet.

Money Track 2: Slot Features

In the base game, be on the lookout for the Train Heist feature while kicking around before the Cash Bonus feature triggers – or is bought.

Train Heist Feature

Each Train symbol that lands in the base game adds +1 multiplier to the collection meter above the respective meter. If no Train symbols hit, the collection above the reels gets reset. When the Train Heist symbol lands, it collects all multipliers from above the reels and pays their total times the total bet. Following the award, multipliers are reset to blank.

Cash Bonus

Train symbols may land on any reel, possessing multiplier values which can only be won in the Cash Bonus feature. When 6 or more Train symbols land, the Cash Bonus is activated. The game starts on level 1 with the first Cash Bonus Enhancer unlocked. Each train symbol that lands in the base game progresses the next locked Cash Bonus Enhancer by 1 step, helping unlock them.

  • 1st Enhancer – reveals a multiplier value of 2x to 30x.
  • 2nd Enhancer – reveals a multiplier value of 2x to 50x. Adds the multiplier value to all other multipliers on the reels.
  • 3rd Enhancer – reveals a multiplier value of 2x to 80x. Doubles the multipliers on the reels.
  • 4th Enhancer – reveals a multiplier of x2 to 100x. Collects the values of other symbols on the reels.

A total of 3 spins are awarded for the Cash Bonus feature. When Train Symbols or Bonus Enhancers hit, they drop to the lowest space on their reels, then lock in place. Completing a row of 5 symbols on the bottom row awards the total value of the multipliers and reset the spin count to 3. Awarded symbols are removed from the bottom row, and other symbols in view may drop down to the lowest space. If 2 rows are completed on the same spin, the next Enhancer is unlocked.

Buy Feature

The bonus buy has four options. These are the Cash Bonus with 2 Enhancers for 75x the bet, the Cash Bonus with 3 Enhancers for 125x the bet, the Cash Bonus with 4 Enhancers for 200x the bet, or a random option for 115x the bet.

Money Track 2: Slot Verdict

A little while back, Stakelogic went through an odd patch, making games that were suspiciously close to stuff its competitors were doing. Mayan Rush, for example, was one slot which was close to Yggdrasil Gaming's classic Valley of the Gods game. As soon as Money Track 2 rumbled into view, the only way it won't remind people of Relax Gaming's smash hit Money Train 3 is if they haven't gotten around to playing it yet. The look, the vibe, the name, all are shockingly similar. Dig a little deeper, and the gameplay between the two games is admittedly very different. But it is worth spending a few moments to digest the breath-taking audacity Stakelogic has displayed by copying one of the biggest slots in the business.

As mentioned above and detailed in the features section, Money Track 2 and the Money Train slots diverge sharply in the gameplay department. Money Track 2 uses the Train Heist feature to add a bit of spark to the base game and is complemented by collecting Train Heist symbols in an effort to unleash more powerful Enhancers when free spins trigger. Keeps you busy, but it's the Cash Bonus where the bigger thrills are likely to take place. Again, it's a hold & win style feature, though a very different one to any of the Money Cart bonus rounds. For that matter, it is different to most other hold & wins out there, so worth a crack if this kind of feature is of interest. It might not seem as explosively devastating as its competitors, yet Money Track 2 comes with a max win figure of 50,000 times the bet.

Maybe not the biggest total ever to be found in a train game, but Money Track 2 puts up a good fight when it comes to winning potential. The numbers are impressive, and the gameplay is innovative enough to make Money Track 2 an attractive game for players keen on big, puffing hold & wins. Strange then that instead of giving the game a strong individual personality to match, Stakelogic felt the need to hitch Money Track 2 to the Money Train franchise's coattails. In the end, the most memorable thing about Money Track 2 was the odd way it tries just as hard to be itself as something else.

Good

It definitely has its moments, but Money Track 2’s knockoff factor is a constant distraction.
